Celebrating Sustainable Fashion at La Petite Boutique
POST EVENT PRESS RELEASE - WINTHROP, MA – September 3rd, 2019
WINTHROP, MA – September 27th, 2019 - On September 26th from 6:00 PM, La Petite Boutique (www.lapetiteboutique.us), a recognized pre-loved women’s wear boutique located in Winthrop, MA hosted an evening of fashion while highlighting the importance of sustainable fashion. This Boston Fashion Week event offered an intimate soiree with only 50 guests admitted where styled looks from curated collections of up cycled fashion were showcased. Models wore 20 different looks between the two participating fashion brands, La Petite Boutique and sun&sonya. Live models became mannequins as they stood on spot lit podiums while guests mingled and shopped around them – a nouveau way of showcasing fashion versus the standard formal runway. It was a debut show for sun&sonya (www.sunandsonya.com) where beach inspired, effortless looks were worn by New England based fashion models, including former Miss Maine, Samantha Dahlborg.
La Petite Boutique partnered with Fashion Revolution for the event (www.fashionrevolution.org), an organization dedicated to spreading information about the importance of sourcing ethical and sustainable fashion. Strategically placed throughout the store were framed statistical data sheets provided by Fashion Rev so that guests could read about just how much the fast fashion industry affects the environment. It was an evening of knowledge sharing and fashion celebrating.
A special Thank You to our partners and sponsors including fashion and beauty expert Kerry Spindler (www.kerryspindler.com) who styled the models’ hair and make-up. Décor including lighting, red carpet, and step and repeat was provided by Consider It Done Special Events (www.cidspecialevents.com).
Until next year, fashionistas!
